World Book Day 2019

Like you, World Vision Cambodia believes in the power education has to change lives and build a strong nation. And with your help, we can provide a brighter future for Cambodia’s children, one book at a time.

Together, we want to fill school libraries across Cambodia with the reading materials needed to provide children with a quality education. When filled with books, libraries encourage school attendance and enable thousands of Cambodian children to experience the joy of reading.

We’re attempting to raise enough funds to purchase 12,333 books, which when staked in a pile will be 37 meters high; the same height as the Independence monument in Phnom Penh.

At the end of the campaign, these books will be distributed to World Vision Cambodia’s Education programs throughout the nation.

One book can help 283 students access quality reading material to enhance their literacy skills. Two colourful thematic books help children understand new topics such as animals with big beautiful pictures and short descriptions. 4 books that educate children to accept those who are differently abled, and assist them gain access to quality, inclusive, education. A textbook for each primary school grade provides access to educational resources which demonstrate essential literacy and thematic skills. A shelf of new reading materials can be accessed by an entire school to support student’s education.
