Discover Who We Are

World Vision is a global community of millions of people, working together for one purpose: to change the lives of vulnerable children.

Our supporters, partners and staff join forces with communities on the ground to help children enjoy good health, be educated for life and participate in shaping the future of their community and themselves.

Together we share proven, world-class development methods to bring food, water, education and economic change. By working with communities to protect children from violence and neglect, caring for them in emergencies and challenging everyday injustice, we enable self- sufficient communities to achieve real, lasting change.

What We Do

We work in partnership with communities to create sustainable change through long-term programs designed to address the root causes of poverty.

We serve to protect children by creating safe, supportive and healthy environments for children to thrive in.

World Vision has been working in Cambodia for over 40 years. We have gained in-depth knowledge of local attitudes and beliefs about education, health, and child protection. Thats why we work together with community members to shift perceptions through education and training workshops embedded in long-term programs to achieve lasting change.

We partner with already local community groups and organisations, together with government service providers to integrate our programs and achieve effective results for the children, their families and communities.

We have three core programs; nutrition, education and child protection and participation, each of which has a range of proven models that when aligned to community needs and vision, work together to achieve holistic and sustainable change.

How We Work

We use a holistic approach to development ensuring we tackle root causes to lift children, their families and community out of poverty. Using globally proven programs, we work with communities to select the right programs to support their vision and needs. We do this in partnership with local stakeholders in order for children to live life in all its fullness.

Working with communities

To achieve ultimate child wellbeing we need to work within the context of that child’s life, because we know child well-being is tied to living in a safe household, healthy environment and supportive community. So we approach development holistically.

We work with communities to establish priorities and the time it will take to achieve their goals. Addressing the root causes of poverty involves building trusting relationships, breaking mindsets, changing attitudes, and providing tools, skills, and training – all of which requires a great investment of time.

Once we engage with a community we are committing to long-term programs which aim to build capacity in the community so there is little reliance on World Vision. Programs can last between 5-15 years depending on the community. Before we work with a community, we sit and listen to them to determine how to best approach the issues.
