World Vision Cambodia Inaugurate New Facility At The National Pediatric Hospital

Phnom Penh, Cambodia, July 26, 2006 - World Vision Cambodia (WVC) announces the opening of the new West Wing building of the National Pediatric Hospital (NPH) under the presence of His Majesty, Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia.

The new two-story building will provide the quality care and treatment of sick children suffering from various illnesses, particularly HIV/AIDS. Other uses for the facility include establishing a Centre of Excellence for the treatment of pediatric HIV/IADS.

“ I am very impressed with World Vision, which has supported the construction of this National Pediatric Hospital for the benefit of the Cambodian people.” Stated the Majesty, King Norodom Sihamoni.

The construction of this west wing building cost US$202,000, funded by Mr. Joe White and Mr. Michael Fox and their families and friends from USA through World Vision United States. The building consists of an office for staff, awaiting room, a conference room, a physiotherapy room, a play room for children and a treatment wing which can accommodate 86 beds.

His Majesty, King Norodom Sihamoni gave his profoundly thank to Mr. Joe White and their families for their own wealth to construct the new treatment building.

”Children are our most precious gift to the world, yet they are the most vulnerable victims of HIV/AIDS." We need to do everything we can to promote their well being and provide access to good healthcare.” states Esther Halim, National Director of World Vision Cambodia.




Although, Mr. Joe White and families could not attend the opening of the west wing building, they have sent their love for the children of Cambodia through Mr. Milton and would like to dedicate the building to all Cambodia Children in the name of Jesus Christ.
