Cambodia boasts high enrolment rates in education, however learning outcomes lag far behind – a recent assessment shows that about one-third of Grade 2 students cannot read. Besides persistent problems in the public education system, underlying factors such as socio-economic and cultural factors hinder participation in education, as well as hinder learning in a broader sense.
Along with our partners, we promote quality learning and life skills by working to:
- Encourage greater community engagement in the education of their children, to strengthen the governance and management of local schools, and mobilise available resources to support teaching and learning
- Enrich learning through innovative teaching methods and resource-rich classrooms
- Support the Government to strengthen the implementation of education policies.
