PHNOM PENH – From December 14 to 17, 46 youth leaders from throughout Cambodia gathered in Phnom Penh to learn about human trafficking and how they can protect themselves and their communities from the tragic consequences unsafe migration.
In early 10th December, a group of young people from Leuk Daek ADP began production on their second film to sh are about unsafe migration in their community.
Youth leader and the film’s director, Hoeun Hun, 20, said, “We decided to film about unsafe migration because it happens in our community and throughout the whole country.
It takes around 30 minutes from the Battambang town, travelling along the national highway, and crossing onto an unpaved small road. There are lots of old small wooden houses with a dirty environment and lots of rubbish, along with an old railway.
Bouna is eleven-year-old boy. He is the oldest of four siblings. He worked in a brick factory in order to help earn an income to support the family. “I had been working in the brick factory as a raw-brick preparer and prepared raw-brick into the kiln. I was always with my close friend. I could earn only 1000-2000 Riels [$0.25 to 0.50 US dollars] because I am just a small boy.
